Kiewit to build new training center in Omaha

Engineered Controls is proud to have been selected to provide the building management system for the new Kiewit University building to be located at 13th and Farnam streets in downtown Omaha, NE.

The new 62,000 square-foot two story facility will provide Innovation, Learning and Leadership classes to 25,000+ Kiewit employees from the U.S., Canada and Australia that regularly attend corporate training. “When we bring our people to Omaha, we book about 15,000 hotel nights a year,” said Tom Janssen, director of external affairs at Kiewit. “We’re very excited to bring our employees to Omaha to show off our community and give them a little flavor of what Omaha has to offer.” Janssen called it a commitment, noting the company spends more than $80 million a year on training.

Kiewit, acting as the general contractor for their own building, has estimated the project will be ready to open the doors sometime in 2017.

Engineered Controls service team constantly impresses me. When our network traffic was causing problems their Service Technician worked all night to resolve the problem.
